Events:
3/20/42: Keel laid as SEA HOUND (II).
12/19/42: Launched.
2/28/43: Taken over by the US Navy for completion as a transport (AP 86), but completed as an attack transport (APA 41).
1/45: Under command of Capt. George W. Wauchope, former Superintendent of the Maritime Service School at Sheepshead Bay, this vessel was attacked by Kamikaze, wounding 157 and killing 35. The resulting fire was extinguished in 17 minutes. The ship was awarded 6 battle stars for its WWII service. 1946: U.S. Maritime Commission
1947: Sold to Pope & Talbot, Inc., renamed P & T PATHFINDER.
1957: Sold to Moore-McCormick Lines, renamed MORMACSUN.
1963: Renamed MORMACPORT.
1964: Sold to Central Gulf Steamship Corp., renamed GREEN PORT.
1967: Sold to States Marine Lines, renamed PINE TREE STATE.
1972: Sold/transferred to States Marine International, Inc., name retained.

1973Sold to Li Chong Steel & Iron Works Co., Ltd., arriving Kaohsiung prior to 5/8/73, leaving Kure 4/24/73 for Okinawa en route. Scrapped 5/73 Kaohsiung.
